The retention of our cultural and architectural heritage is enshrined in many of the City’s official documents, such as the Official Plan, Zoning Bylaws and SmartGuelph principles.Over 2,000 buildings are listed on the City of Guelph Inventory of Heritage Buildings. When a property owner applies to modify (ie. addition, severance, etc) a property on the heritage database, the application is generally reviewed by Heritage Guelph to determine whether the committee has comments on the historic elements of the property.
